herb farm walks
with jim mcdonald
Tuesdays in
July, August & September
at
Black Locust Gardens
in Ann Arbor, Michigan
(actually dexter...)
**These walks are being filmed for an upcoming online class
series**
Most of my herb walks are offered in wild places (and
sometimes wild lawns) in Michigan, which means there
are some plants I dearly love but never get to sit
next to and talk about. But at
Black
Locust Gardens, a medicinal
plant farm stewarded by herbalist Alex Crowfoot and
farmer Ben Hicks just north of Ann Arbor, many of
these virtuous and beloved plants thrive!
Join us in a walk around the farm in July, August and
September where we'll see and
discuss plants such as holy basil, echinacea,
california poppy, ashwagandha,
astragalus, elecampane,
marshmallow, valerian & other cultivated medicinals...
many of which I've never before
been able to discuss in herb walks. Best of
all, should you find you need one of these plants,
Black Locust has them available to order;
fresh harvested for you by awesome people from your
local herb farm.
Handouts on gathering, medicine making and some of the
plants discussed are included. AND you
couldn't find a better place or better people to
order herbs from!
